The gift from the trustees of the Sir Percival David Foundation

The rare porcelain artworks have been on show on the second floor of the museum since 2009.

The Chinese imperial porcelains were handmade for the imperial courts and royal families over Song dynasty (about AD 1086) to Qing dynasty. The collection includes a chicken cup used to serve white wine for the Chenghua emperor, the cup autcioned at 39 million US$.
